Dr. Murphy is a Professor of History and Women & Gender Studies, a tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Science & Technology Studies and Environmental Data Justice, as well as a leading science and technology studies scholar with expertise in scientific practices relating to environmental justice, reproductive justice, and data politics in North America. Dr. Murphy has directed the Technoscience Research Unit since 2007 which hosts an Indigenous led Environmental Data Justice lab. Dr. Murphy is also the author of 3 books and 27 articles, and brings to the TCO extensive experience in public-facing social justice academic work around the environment as exemplified in collaborations with the Politics of Evidence Working Group, Our Right to Know, and the Endocrine Disruptors Action Group.
